Wendell Stabler joined the Army National Guard in July 1969. After his active duty in the Guard he started working at SC Electric and Gas where he has been employed for 38 years. Wendell married Kathy Harsey in 1975.  He completed an Industrial Electricity Course at Midlands Tech in 1979.

He and Kathy have one son, Josh (27) who also works at SC Electric & Gas as a Survey Technician in the Transmission Department.
Wendell served on the Lexington District 4 School Board for two terms. He was issued a patent for a field tester that was used at SCE&G.

Wendell is a licensed state commercial electrician and he and Josh have a part-time electrical business.
